Motor Vehicle, Car, Motorcycle, Pedestrian Accidents in ConnecticutA large part of our practice is dedicated to recovering money damages for clients who have been injured in accidents involving cars, trucks and motorcycles. We represent only accident victims whether they are injured in automobiles, on motorcycles, as pedestrians, or even bicyclists. The operator of a motor vehicle is obligated under the law to follow the rules of the road. Failure to do so imposes legal responsible for injuries and damages that result from either a collision with another vehicle, loss of control resulting in single vehicle accident, or from striking a pedestrian. Uninsured and under insured motor claims are also pursued for clients involved in hit and run accidents, and where the responsible party either does not have any insurance, or there is not adequate insurance to fully compensate our client. Connecticut law provides that an injured person is entitled to “fair, just and reasonable” compensation for damages caused by the negligent or intentional misconduct of another. These money damages are to compensate the injured party for past medical expenses, future medical expenses, past and future lost wages, physical and mental pain and suffering, the effects of an injury on one’s life, as well as permanent partial disability/impairment and any scarring from trauma or surgery. It is often clear how an accident has happened and who is the responsible party. In cases where there is a dispute about what occurred and who is responsible for an accident, our firm has hired private investigators to obtain witness statements. We have also retained experts to conduct engineering and accident reconstruction to establish fault.
